Just some of our Activities
Centre 81This outreach ministry has been serving the needy
of our community for over 33 years. It includes fellowship, referral services and a FoodBank. Plus the service actively supports Marrageil Baggarrook temporary accommodation, which is also co-located on our Mitcham property. Members donate food at all our Sunday worships. Click here for more info. Going Further FundEstablished by a new mission resolution of the previous Mountview Congregation back in 2012, the
Going Further Fund enabled the congregation to partner with organisations who provide support to disadvantaged and or marginalised people, locally and or abroad. Justice And Mission MinistryJAMM evolved naturally by members from all the past congregations, prior to the formality of coming together as one congregation, determined to meet and work together for justice and mission issues. This ministry encompasses missional activities (such as Centre 81, Op Shop, Kids Hope, etc) plus regularly informs and engages church members on social justice issues, including taking action!

Loose Change Sponsorship SchemeThe first partnership facilitated by the new 2012 Going Further Fund was with Loose Change.
Loose Change was a local funds-raising organisation that supported the work of the NOCET Orphanage (New Outlook CEntre Tanzania) until end 2021. Every year, the congregation provided Loose Change with moneys drawn from the Fund to help support NOCET's work among Tanzania's most vulnerable children. Due to Australian Govt regulatory changes, some international organisational donations are no longer permitted. This charity was therefore wound up. For links about Loose Change and NOCET, see our Links page. Marrageil Baggarrook
This major redevelopment opened during 2021.
In conjunction with Uniting VicTas, the community services arm of the UCA, new buildings designed for temporary accommodation replaced the former Mountview House that had provided various other community services. Partnerships between Uniting have been established with the congregation and also with Centre 81 (with practical support). Further details about this project are available. Contact us if you have a particular query. Op ShopThis ministry exists to help those in need.
All proceeds go to charities. Click here for more info. Other Mission ActivitiesMembers undertake various seasonal opportunities for funds-raising and food collections, such as: holding 'open gardens' in spring; and halloween-night food collection door knocks for those in need.
